Quick & Easy Bows - Christmas Charm

Hello Sweetpeas! I've created lots of layouts using the CHRISTMAS CHARM collection recently and I was down to mere scraps remaining! So I wanted to create a simple and fun layout to stretch out the last of my offcuts. In doing so, I also found another use for the FESTIVE LIGHTBULB punch. If you were lucky enough to purchase the FESTIVE LIGHTBULB punch before it sold out recently, then you might enjoy making some very simple bows to compliment your layout. I really hope you give this design a try for yourselves, it is SO simple.

First I cut a strip of the gold designer paper to measure 1" x 12". It was adhered at the top of the star background designer paper. Next, I added a scalloped border sticker to both the top and bottom of the layout. That pretty much prepared my whole background....Easy right??

With my remaining paper scraps, I cut some various sizes for my gift boxes. I really wasn't particular about this but if you are scrapping along at home they measure- 4" x 2.5", 3" x 3", 3.5" x 2" and 4" x 2.5".

Using my FESTIVE LIGHTBULB punch, I punched two bulbs for each gift box. I also used the smallest OVAL CCS template to cut one oval for each bow. (I used the blue blade on the inside track.) All you need to do then is adhere the top ends of the lightbulb together in the middle, cut a straight edge on each side and adhere the oval in the middle with a foam square. To complete each gift box I also cut a 3/8" wide strip to run through the vertical centre of each gift below the bow.

Now if you don't have the FESTIVE LIGHTBULB punch you could always create your own unique bows using the ENVELOPE & BOW MAKER.

To complete my layout I cut some photo mats using AVOCADO cardstock. They each measure 3.5" x 5" which means I will trim my photos to measure 3.25" x 4.75".

As you can see by the finished design I didn't feel the need to add any further embellishments, but that doesn't mean you have to do the same. You could add a fun title or even some journaling.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my layout today and you feel inspired to try and create it for yourselves. It was a great page for using my scraps.

Lots of paper-y love,

Kylie.
