Secret Box Unveil - Grand Times

Hello Sweetpeas!

Did you purchase the *Q4 secret box from Creative Memories recently?? If so and you are like me then you would be squealing with excitement over its contents. This quarters theme was quite masculine which will help me since I am quite behind in scrapbooking my sons album. This is the first layout I have created with the secret box contents, a collection called 'GRAND TIMES'.

(*This secret box was a sell out and now that I have seen the generous contents I can understand why.)

I chose a navy background designer paper from the designer paper pack and trimmed it to 11.5" x 11.5". Next I adhered it to a woodgrain finish paper from the tone-on-tone paper pack. I cut two strips of a grey check designer paper to measure 1.25" x 11.5" and adhered at the top and base of my page.

Then I had a little fun with the Diamond Link Chain BMC that was included in the secret box. I LOVE THIS border maker cartridge!!! I punched two strips from a light blue tone-on-tone paper and cut the lengths of both to 11.5". I cut two thin strips of beige tone-on-tone paper to 11.5" long and wove them through the punched borders. This is a really easy technique and I love the layered appearance it gives on your layout. Both borders were adhered at the top and base of the page.

You all know I love my big titles and I really felt this layout deserved a cut file title. I know not everyone works with cut files so if you are recreating this layout for yourselves you could easily add another 5" x 3.5" horizontal photo here or even create a title using some ABC/123 stickers. I think the 'VINTAGE CHIC' ABC/123 tile stickers would be a great match.

For those of you who do like to use cut files, I purchased this design from Etsy HERE.

The title was adhered with foam squares to give the layout some dimension. Once it was in place all I really needed to do was add my photos. I used the woodgrain frame from the Grand Times embellishments. It will frame a 4" x 6" photo. Next I cut two photo mats from a beige tone-on-tone paper. Both measured 3.25" x 4.25". I also added a small amount of a brown ink to the edges of both. A 3" x 4" photo will be featured on these.

I found a sweet little phrase via Pinterest that I typed into a word document before printing on photo safe paper. It was then cut into strips and added underneath the larger frame.

I finished the layout by adding a few embellishments. The embroidered pack is amazing and I loved the little cameras and stars that were included.

Overall, this was a pretty simple layout to bring together and I can't wait to add my sons photos to it before including it in his album.

I'd love for you to give it a try and if you would like more information about the Creative Memories Secret Boxes feel free to drop me a line at papersweetpea@gmail.com

Happy scrapping!

Kylie.
